Privacy notice
How we process personal data on this website and when you contact us. Last updated 20 October 2026.
This notice explains how personal data is processed when you visit gmtfreightsolutions.com or contact GMT Freight Solutions, in accordance with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (“PDPL”) and, for visitors and customers located in the European Union, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, “GDPR”).
1. Data controller
The data controller is GMT Freight Solutions FZE LLC, a free zone company registered with the Ajman Nuventures Centre Free Zone (ANCFZ) under licence no. 2625614773888, with its registered address at CWS-2V-226287, 26th Floor, Amber Gem Tower, Ajman, United Arab Emirates (“GMT”, “we”).
For any question about this notice or your data, write to info@gmtfreightsolutions.com.
2. Data we process
Browsing data
When you visit the website, the server automatically records technical data needed to deliver the pages and keep the site secure: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the browser and operating system used and the response status. This data is not used to identify you or to build profiles.
Data you send us
The website has no contact form. If you write to us, for example with the “Email this request” button on the contact page, we receive the data contained in your email: typically your name, company, email address, phone number and the details of the shipment (origin, destination, cargo, timing).
Please do not send us special categories of data (such as health data) unless strictly necessary for a shipment.
Cookies
The website does not use profiling or analytics cookies. See the cookie policy.
3. Purposes and legal bases
The legal bases below are expressed with reference to the GDPR; under the PDPL, the same processing is carried out to perform a contract with you, to take steps at your request, to comply with legal obligations or with your consent.
- Operating and securing the website (browsing data): our legitimate interest in providing a working and secure website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Answering enquiries and preparing quotes: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, or our legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Performing the logistics services you request: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- Complying with legal obligations, such as accounting, tax and customs requirements: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
- Defending our rights in case of disputes: our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Providing your data is voluntary, but without it we cannot reply to your request or arrange a shipment.
4. Recipients and transfers
Your data is processed by authorised GMT staff and may be shared, only to the extent necessary, with:
- the website hosting provider and our email service provider, acting as processors;
- carriers, airlines, couriers, customs brokers, agents and local partners involved in a shipment you ask us to organise;
- public authorities, including customs authorities, where required by law;
- professional advisers (for example accountants and lawyers), bound by confidentiality.
GMT is established in the United Arab Emirates, so data you send us is received and processed in the UAE. Because we organise international shipments, data may also be shared with partners in the other countries involved in your shipment, including countries in Europe and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Where the GDPR applies, data transferred from the European Economic Area to the UAE or to other countries is transferred only when necessary to perform the service you have requested or to take steps at your request (Art. 49(1)(b) and (c) GDPR), or on the basis of appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). Cross-border transfers under the PDPL follow the conditions set out in that law.
5. Retention
- Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted, according to the hosting provider's log rotation.
- Enquiries that do not lead to a contract are kept for up to 24 months, so that we can follow up on the same request.
- Data related to shipments and contracts is kept for the period required by accounting, tax and customs law.
6. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing or receive it in a portable format, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 13–18 PDPL; Art. 15–21 GDPR). Write to info@gmtfreightsolutions.com; we will reply within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office or, if you are in the European Union, with the data protection supervisory authority of the country where you live or work, or where an alleged infringement took place.
7. Changes
We may update this notice, for example if we add new features to the website. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
